Zoë is the founder of Dress Like a Mum, a blog that she created after the birth of her 2 kids (she has an 18 months old daughter and a 3 and a half year old son). Her mission? Change the perception that mums can’t dress and automatically lose their sense of style and their passion for fashion just because they have a kid! She accepted to answer our questions about what makes here a joyful mother and to share her best beauty tips and style ideas!

What do you like most about being a mother?

Z – My children! And the love, laughter and fun they bring.

What makes you a joyful mother?

Z – Gratitude – Even when things are really hard I remember to be grateful. I also pick my battles and think about what’s important and I listen.

What has surprised you the most?

Z – I guess how busy it is being a parent and how there is always so much to do. And also how much love I have.

What is your best memory when being pregnant?

Z – I loved the kicks and the excitement about meeting the little person. Pregnancy is amazing – being able to grow a human inside your tummy is incredible.

What style of clothing did you love to wear while pregnant?

Z – I tried to continue to dress exactly how I did without a bump. I think women sometimes find it hard to dress their pregnant shape and often buy maternity clothes that they wouldn’t wear without a bump, I had a few pairs of statementmaternity jeans and tops that weren’t maternity but could accommodate a bump and then could be worn to breastfeed in afterwards.

What styling tips would you like to share with breastfeeding mothers?

Z – Layering – vests are great if you are breastfeeding- you can wear them under your normal t-shirts or tops, then the top top comes up and the vest comes down. Jumpsuits and dungarees are good too.

What is your best fashion advice for new mums?

Z – Stay true to you and your style. If you liked clothes before having a baby then keep that love and don’t forget about you. A lot of things change when you have a baby but your fashion sense doesn’t have to.

Thank you Zoë!
